General Position Summary:
Promote Garten Services, Inc. within the community. Assists with fund-raising, public relations, and general needs of the department. This position promotes Garten Services and assists the Resource Development Manager to ensure that departmental marketing plans are aligned with the Strategic Development Plan of the organization while enhancing its mission and vision.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Resource Development Manager to fully understand department and organizational needs.
- Based on assessment, drafts and proposes communications campaigns, which may include social and online media, print media, direct mail, and other multimedia avenues.
- Presents design ideas and recommendations to department manager and other stakeholders.
- Creates and coordinates multimedia packages.
- Schedules and develops filming scripts, production, and presentation of multimedia projects for the organization.
- Evaluates success of campaigns when complete.
- Attends trade shows, community events, and staffs company booths.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Secondary Functions:
- Builds and maintains relationships with members of the community.
- Plans, develops, implements, and organizes events and volunteers to advance the mission and goals of the organization.
- Organizes community outreach programs and coordinates special events that will influence public opinion or promote goods, services, or ideas of the organization.
Specific Job Skills Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills that may require public speaking and presentations at times.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive or controversial subjects with tact, kindness, and professionalism.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite Pro, or related Software.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and proof of current vehicle insurance
- Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands/arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, and kneel.
Education and/or Experience Required:
- Associates Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field.
- At least two years of documented experience in one or more of the mentioned fields as an equivalent
