Garten is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1970 that supports people with disabilities in their effort to contribute to the community through employment, career, and retirement opportunities. Everything we do increases society’s awareness of human potential.
The common thread in all Garten programs and services is integration. Year around, we create opportunities for over 500 adults with disabilities in the Willamette Valley to work, live and participate in non-segregated settings in our community. We also work closely with local employers to assist in recruiting, training and hiring Garten program participants into their workforce.
Garten augments community placements with employment opportunities in our own fee-for-services professional enterprises, including: confidential document destruction, commercial laundry, custodial, electronics refurbishing and recycling, mail services, recycling, hand packaging & assembly, and order fulfillment. We also provide a day activities program for seniors with disabilities who have aged out of the work force, to keep them physically, socially and cerebrally active—and engaged in their community.
Garten offers services from five locations in Salem, Dallas and Eugene. Don’t hesitate to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) if you would like to schedule a tour. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy your visit to our web site!
